And then we got to the point of talking about the project with Eli and Ricardo. I can’t forget that day. We had agreed on catching up in Café Juan Valdez, near Universidad de Cartagena. Once there, we got straight to the point by letting them know what was it all about. Words can’t express how beautiful it was to see their reaction. Just the fact of putting dancers together from every corner of the world, and also aiming to help children while doing what they love, it was close to perfection.

We had quite a few photo and video sessions. I’d say 6 or 7. Every time we set the meeting point around 6 a.m. so we could find empty spots or at least with less people than usual. The experience of shooting dancers for the first time on my own is indescribable. Eli and Richie, both carry such a beautiful “pa’ las que sea” vibe that makes you feel comfortable and inspired. That helped me a lot to get to the final product.
