Darlyn studied in the Colombian Institute of Classical Ballet (Incolballet) for six years, danced with the National Ballet of Colombia’s Salsa (SalsaBallet) for five years, where salsa music is danced in points. She also studied contemporary dance at El Colegio del Cuerpo. Darlyn attended Free Xpression for a year, a school where she was both, a dancer and a student; there she focused on jazz and contemporary dance.
Later in 2016 she participated in a dance creation project called Desterrados, under the ‘Estimulo’ scholarship, granted by the Secretary of Culture in Cali. She’s worked with artists such as Julien Previeux in the Museo de la Tertulia in Cali, Butoh Master, Ko Murobushi.
She’s currently certified as a yoga teacher; she describes herself as a passionate of dance and arts. She sees the arts as a way to understand our bodies, where we can explore them freely and fortify our minds and souls. She’s interested in dance pedagogy as a tool to overcome difficulty whether that be socioeconomic, physical, and many others.
